본 연구는 다문화가정 유아의 자아개념과 또래관계 간의 관계에 관하여 살펴보고자 서울과 경기 지역에 분포한 다문화가정 유아들을 대상으로 연구하였다. 연구결과 다문화가정 유아들의 자아개념은 유아의 성별과 다문화가정의 월평균 소득에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 다문화가정 유아의 또래관계는 성별, 출생순위, 부학력, 모학력, 모취업, 월평균소득 등에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다문화가정 유아의 자아개념과 또래관계 간에는 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 다문화가정 유아의 성장과 발달에 미치는 유아 개인과 가정환경의 영향력을 보여주는 결과이며 특별히 다문화가정 유아의 자아개념이 또래관계와 밀접한 상관성을 보인 본 연구의 결과는 다문화가정 유아 자신에 대한 지각과 인식이 또래관계에 투사되어 사회적 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인임 보여주는 결과라고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 우리사회의 급격한 다문화현상에 따라 다문화가정 유아들의 성장과 발달이 중요한 교육적과제인 현 시점에서 그들의 건강한 자아개념 형성과 사회관계능력 신장을 위한 교육적 배려가 뒤따라야 함을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study is to examine self-concept and peer relationships of young children from multicultural family. In research on young children from multicultural family living in Seoul and Gyong-gi, results were as follows: First, self-concept of young children from multicultural family varied from children’s gender and an average monthly income of multicultural family. Second, peer relationships of young children from multicultural family varied from such as children’s gender, birth order, father’s education level, mother’s education level, mother’s employment, an average monthly income, and mother’s proficir’sy in Koreanprofird, there were significant correlations between self-concept and peer relationships of young children from multicultural family. These results show the influr’s of family background on the growulticuldevelopment of young children from multicultural family. Especially, close correlations between self-concept and peer relationships of young children from multicultural family indicate that awily.latiand perception on themselvariare rcalected in peer relationships, and consequr’tly, influr’s onbetween relationships. Thercaore, it is suggested that there sal s bficducationen consideration aor young children from multicultural family so that theythen bu’s their healthy self-concept and impr aebetween self-coin that one of the curreelatmportaelacducationen goa-cois the growulticuldevelopment of young children from multicultural family, incording to the rapid multicultural phenomenon in our society.
