이 글의 목적은 고등학교 7차 사회문화 교과서에 나타난 사이버문화와 관련한 긍정적 기능과 부정적 기능 요소들을 내용분석 방법을 도입하여 개념영역, 내용영역, 관점 영역으로 분석하여 향후 교과서 개발에 시사점을 제공하는데 있다. 분석 결과 개념 영역에서는 정보사회의 특징으로 사이버문화에 대해 설명하면서 다양한 용어를 정의하고 있었으나 사이버문화의 부정적 기능과 관련한 용어 설명 부분이 취약했고 사이버문화와 관련된 개념 정의도 일반화되지 못하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 내용 영역에서는 정보사회의 부정적, 긍정적 기능을 설명하면서 다양한 읽기 자료를 사용하고 있음을 알 수 있었으나 사이버문화의 기능에 대한 교과서 사례들이 비슷한 자료를 많이 다루고 있는 문제점이 있었다. 관점 영역에서는 균형적 관점에서 미래사회에 대처하는 우리의 자세를 서술하고 있었지만, 그 내용을 원론적 수준에서 서술하거나 탐구활동을 통해 생각해보는 정도로만 제시하고 있었다. 사이버문화와 관련한 교육을 진행함에 있어 빠르게 변화하는 사회적 현상을 심도 있게 연구 하여 양질의 교육이 이루어질 수 있도록 하는 사회문화 교과서의 새로운 내용 구성이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for developing the textbook 'Society & Culture'. Based on the content analysis method, we perform the research into three parts(the concept field, meaning field, and viewpoint field). Furthermore, we find out the proper and reverse function of the cyberculture in the 7th Society & Culture textbook. As results of the study, in concept field, the cyberculture is explained as a cultural and social phenomenon with a subordinate concept of information society, and it has various term definitions. But, concepts associated with reverse function of the cyberculture are not enough and the concepts tend to be abstract or do not generalize the concepts. As for meaning field, textbooks explain the multiplicity of proper and reverse function of the information society and use many reading materials, but there are too many similar materials in textbooks. Next, as for viewpoint field, textbooks have some suggestions for need and visions for the future with a respect of equilibrium analysis, but there are some limitations that textbooks explain the cyberculture just theoretically or provide some tasks to think about it by oneself. Therefore, the new contents of Society & Culture textbook are required to achieve well-qualified cyberculture education through further study of social phenomenon.
