본 연구는 서울교육종단연구(SELS)를 이용하여 특성화고등학교 재학생의 진로결정(취업결정, 대학진학, 미결정)에 관련된 변인을 탐색하였고, 중학생의 특성화고 진학결정에 대한 변인을 탐 색하였다. 다항로지스틱회귀분석을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 부모의 기대 진로활동경험 학 업성적이 진로결정에 영향을 주었다. 또한 중학생이 특성화고 진학을 선택함에 있어 타 계열고 등학교를 선택한 중학생과 비교하였다. 그 결과 부모의 학력, 학업성적, 진로활동경험에 의하여 고교계열 선택의 영향을 받았다. 이를 통하여 서울시내 중학생와 고등학생의 개인변인과 진로활 동경험은 상위학교의 선택과 진로결정에 영향을 주고 있었고, 이를 바탕으로 결론과 시사점을 제시한다.
This study explored the variables related to employment, application to a school and the indecision of the students enrolled in vocational high school using Seoul Educational Longitudinal Study (SELS) and the variables affecting middle school students’ choice of vocational high school. Data were analyzed, using multinominal logistic regression analysis. As a result, it turned out that parents’ expectation, the students’ experience of career activities and school record influenced their career decision. In addition, the middle school students who chose a vocational high school were compared with those who chose other courses. As a result, it turned out that parents’ academic background, the students’ school record and experience of career activities influenced their choice of courses other than vocational high school. Through these results, it was found that experience of career activities influenced the students’ choice of a school of higher grade and career decision, and thus, this study proposes the necessity of substantial career program.
