This study aims to analyse the effect of overseas tourist risk management techniques on management performance and to verify the difference of risk management performance according to demographic characteristics(sex, age, income, education) or risk perception. Data collection is done through questionnaires for Korean overseas tourists during more than two weeks(from Oct. 3 to Oct. 19). Seven hypotheses are established in order to accomplish this study, and hypotheses are verified by using t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. According to the statistical analysis results, it is proven that risk management performance of Korean overseas tourists is higher for the aged than for the younger segment and likewise for the high-perception group than for the low-perception group. Moreover the result of multiple regression analysis revealed that loss control, insurance and retention techniques influence management performance of overseas tourist risk with significantly positive relationships. These findings imply that loss control, insurance and retention techniques among the risk management techniques should be used effectively to manage overseas tourist risk.
