국내에 거주하고 있는 외국인이 100만 명을 넘어섰고, 이주 노동자와 결혼 이민자, 북한 이탈주민 등 다양한 인종적·문화적 배경의 사회 구성원들이 날로 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 가운데 우리에게 필요한 것은 다양한 문화를 인정하고 소수 문화에 대한 차별을 해소하며 사회통합에 기여하는 다문화에 대한 교육이며, 나아가 이를 편견 없이 받아들이는 태도일 것이다. 우리나라의 다문화 교육에 대한 정책들은 아직 과도기적 단계에 놓여 있다. 학교 교육 역시도 교육과정에는 다문화 교육 내용을 포함 하고 있지만 아직 학교 현장에서의 실천은 미흡하다. 따라서 학교 현장에서는 다문화 교육에 대한 관심과 노력이 절실히 필요하다. 논문 연구의 주제로 선정된 스페인의 춤 ‘플라멩코’는 우리나라 정서와는 전혀 다른 문화이다. 음악, 춤, 역사가 통합되어 스페인만의 독특한 문화로 자리 잡은 ‘플라멩코’는 본능의 즐거움을 추구하는 ‘자유’를 나타낸다. 일상의 삶에서는 숨겨져 있던 열정이 축제를 통해 폭발되며, 특히 플라멩코는 그들의 ‘한’을 음악과 춤으로 개성 있게 표현할 수 있는 대표적인 문화이다. 만약 우리나라 청소년들이 이러한 정서를 이해하지 못한다면, 우리는 그들의 문화에 대해 반감을 가질 수 있다. 하지만 이러한 모습을 차이가 아닌 다름으로 인식하고 받아들이는 것은 다문화 사회로 나아가는 21세기에서 우리의 경험을 넓혀 나가는 하나의 방법이 될 것이다. 세계는 이제 지구촌 가족이라 불릴 만큼 시·공간적으로 가까이에 있다. 하지만 입시 위주의 공부로 인하여 좁은 시야를 가진 우리나라 청소년들에게 다문화 사회는 조금 낯선 얘기일 수도 있다. 그렇기 때문에 학교 현장에서의 다문화 교육은 그 무엇보다 중요하며, 교수-학습 방법에 대한 연구 및 투자도 아낌없이 이루어 져야 할 것이다.
In the age of globalization, Korea is changing rapidly to be the multiracial and multi cultural society and the number of foreigners living in Korea exceeded one billion such as foreign employers, immigrants from other countries or North Korea. The trend requires us to understand multi culture and get rid of discrimination against minority. However, Korean systems of the multi-cultural education is transition and it is not enough yet to be one of ways in school education even though text books have some contents of multi cultural education. Flamenco, Spanish dance, selected as the subject of thesis is significantly different culture from us and new to the korean sentiment. Spaniards are relaxed in their daily life but they show overwhelming compassion when they dance. Expecially, Flamenco is representative culture showing spanish passion. If korean teenagers do not learn Spanish feelings, it may be difficult to understand Flamenco as spanish culture. However, by learning how to accept and respect differences, they can be leaders in 21st century which is moving forwards multi culture society. Korean students have narrow views and less experiences than those of other countries because their education focuses only on entrance exam. Therefore, The multi cultural education is indispensable in Korea society and teaching and learning method should be deeply studied in the globalized world. The multi cultural education helps them to be global talented people in an era of internationalization.
