이 논문은 김영랑의 시가 근대적 서정시로서 완성된 형태를 갖추었다고 판단하여 그의 시가 지닌 서정성을 살펴보았다. 지금까지 김영랑 시 연구는 언어 조탁, 음악성, 순수 이미지 등에 집중하여 진행되어왔다. 시 형식에 치중되었던 기존의 순수시 개념에서 벗어나서 본 논문은 김영랑의 시에서 드러나는 주체성과 사회성에 주목하였다. 주지하다시피 근대적 서정시는 낭만주의적 자아의 주관적 내면성과 밀접한 관련을 갖는다. 일상적 내면성을 표출하는 여타의 글쓰기와 달리 서정시는 특정한 주체상을 전제로 하며 미적 가공을 필요로 한다. 김영랑의 경우 그는 ‘내 마음의 세계’에 천착하였지만 현실을 외면하거나 유미주의를 추구한 것은 아니었다. 그는 식민지 현실의 한계를 경험하면서 내적 성찰을 통한 주체의 형상을 작품으로 구축하였고 이 과정에서 예술적 완성을 이루고자 하였다. 섬세하게 다듬어진 김영랑 시에는 표면적 의미와 내재적 의미 사이의 간극이 있다. 대표적으로 「동백닙에 빗나는 마음」은 ‘내 마음의 마음’이라는 역설적 상황을 제시하면서 자신의 숨은 의지를 표현하였다. 김영랑 시의 주체성은 현실과 이상의 균열에 대한 인식에서 비롯한다. 낭만적 이상의 좌절에 따른 슬픔은 그의 시에서 감정적으로 나타나지 않고 오히려 극복하려는 의지로 고양된다. 또한 자기반성적 성찰을 거치는 과정에서 김영랑의 시선은 보편적 가치를 향한다. 주관적 마음의 상태가 형상화된 서정시는 개별적이면서 보편적이기도 하다는 점에서 시대의 특수성을 반영한다. 따라서 능동적으로 작용하는 서정시의 주체성은 특별한 의미의 사회성을 지닌다. 김영랑의 시에는 식민지 현실을 살아가면서 시대의 불합리성을 인식하고 그것으로부터 벗어나기 위한 이상에의 추구가 막연한 동경에 그친다는 사실을 깨달아가는 일련의 과정이 고스란히 담겨 있다.

This paper focused the lyrical characteristic in Kim young rang's poetry which is the finished form of the modern lyric poetry. This paper considers the subjectivity and sociality presented his poetry as a pure poem. Modern lyric poetry is closely connected with the subjective of the romantics self. Unlike the expressing of the usual inner, lyric poem premises a particular subjective figure and needs the aesthetics processing. Kim young rang has concentrated into his mind but he did not ignore reality or seek aesthetic. Within the limits of colonial reality, he works on the subject's figure through introspection. In this process, he wanted to achieve the completion of the artistic. Kim young rang has polished delicately his poetry, accordingly there is a crack between the superficial meaning and the implicit meaning of his poetry. Obviously arising in [Shining heart of camellia leaves], his whole poem will place a paradoxical situation as "My heart's heart". Therefore, to analyze the semantics of poetry we can confirm his identity, subjectivity that it work active. Subjectivity of Kim young rang's poetry arises from perception about the cracks of reality and ideal. In his poetry, the frustration of romantic ideal does not express emotionally. Preferably it uplift as the will to overcome. Over the course of reflective introspection, Kim young rang are interested in the universal values. Shaping of the subjective mind is the individual but universal. So it reflects the uniqueness of the era. In this context, lyric subjectivity reveals the sociality. In life of colonial reality, he recognizes the absurdity of the era. He apprehends a vague hope which is the pursuit of the ideal to escape from that situation. This course of a series is embedded intact in his poetry.
