SKOS는 기존 개념 어휘의 이용 환경을 바꾸지 않고 단순화된 모델에 근거하여 보다 광범위한 재사용과 보다 좋은 상호운용성을 가능하게 하고 공동으로 사용하는 공간에 이식할 수 있도록 설계된 것이다. 그러나 기존의 지식조직화 체계를 SKOS로 그대로 변환하면 원래 의도한 목적과 다른 표현이 될 수도 있다. 특히 시소러스나 택소노미보다도 분류표의 경우 명확히 전달되지 않거나 의도하지 않는 표현이 될 수도 있다. 본 연구는 한국십진분류법(KDC)이 의도한 원래의 목적을 손실 없이 SKOS화하고, 시소러스의 의미 구조를 보충하여 서로 융합하는 시도를 하였다. 또한, 기 구축된 skos-owl1-dl.rdf를 확장하여 시험 작성하였다.
The aim of SKOS is to enable a wider re-use and a better interoperability of the existing vocabulary and to makepossible a porting to a shared space, without changing the existing conceptual vocabulary use environment, based on asimplified model. However, if you directly convert an existing knowledge organization systems to SKOS, they may becomean expression different from what was originally intended. Especially, classification systems can be an expression which canbe neither delivered accurately nor intended rather than thesauri or taxonomies. In this research, we tried to apply SKOS tooriginal purpose of KDC without any loss, compensate meaning structure of thesauri and combine them mutually. Inaddition, we implemented existing skos-owl1-dl.rdf by extending it as a test.
