Korean universities are situated in an inevitable expanded operation of English-mediated courses, but they are not so successful partly because of instructors' deficiency in proper English, such as 'speaking written style or speaking like a book'. In this context, this paper focuses on providing the proper usage of 'English for Academic Classroom Lectures(EACL)', (which is basically distinguished from Classroom English,) as informal spoken English, which is motivated by two perspectives: that of interaction of spoken and that of imprecision of informal. From the interactional perspective, EACL shows the frequent use of sentence reduction, wh-clefts, active sentences with animate subjects, discourse markers, etc. From the imprecisional perspective, EACL shows the frequent use of phrasal verbs rather than one-word verbs, coordinate conjunctions and though as conjunctive adverbs rather than subordinate conjunctions, vague or sloppy expressions, and so forth.
