The Definiteness Effect Constructions in exsitential contexts appears as a constraint in Spanish. The constructions with the impersonal verb HABER represents the cannonical existential context, with its associated Definiteness Effect. Another existential context that gives rise to a Definiteness Effect is provided by the verb TENER (‘have) in Spanish. But it seems to be absent in other existential contexts with the verb ESTAR (‘be’). In this paper, we have examined that Lexical- Syntax (Halley, 1996) can be apply to the constructions with the verbs ESTAR in Spanish. And we have supposed that the difference between the verbs HABER, TENER and ESTAR is derived from the Lexical-Syntax (Harlley, 1996).
