Traditional ideology of juvenile protection is based on parenspatria that government act as the parent of any child orindividual who is in need of protection. In early 1980’s, manystates in the U.S. moved away from the ideology of juvenilerehabilitation and several measures are introduced to juvenilejustice’s system to become more strict on juvenile crime. Although the juvenile legal system significantly expandedlegislation allowing for prosecution of juveniles in adult criminalcourt, these legal reforms requires inputs and advices from otherexperts from other field such psychology and child developmentarea.
