The Vietnamese political system is socialist republic, whereas the Republic of Korea’s political regime is semi-presidential. In comparison with the two regimes, the fact that they differ from one to the other in many aspects. More remarkably, the Korean President plays an important role in external and internal affairs, while the Vietnamese President is a symbolic head of state. The core aim of the paper is to compare and contrast mainly political institutions of the two countries and the Presidency of Korea and Vietnam. Consequently, the paper is divided in two sections. The first section is going to investigate a main overview of the two concurrent political regimes. Subsequently, presidential powers of the two countries will be analysed in section two.
한국의 정치체제가 준대통령제(semi-presidential)인 반면에 베트남의 정치제제는 사회주의 공화국(socialist republic)이다. 비교적 관점에서 두 국가의 정치체제는 다양한 측면에서 상이한 바 중요한 차이점 중의 하나는 베트남의 대통령이 국가의 상징적 수반임에 비해 한국의 대통령은 국내외적으로 중요한 역할을 수행한다는 것이다. 본 연구의 주요한 목적은 두 국가의 정체체제, 특히 대통령제에 관해 비교분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선, 두 국가의 현 정치체제에 관해 조사한 후, 두 국가의 대통령 역할 및 권한에 관해 분석해 보고자 하는 것이다.
