본 연구는 미디어에서 바라본 노인의 섹슈얼리티(Sexuality)를 KBS 3 라디오 ‘출발 멋진 인생’을 중심으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 2006년 1월 ∼ 2009년 12월 까지 서울시립 S노인종합복지관 행복한 노후 성상담센터에서 내방이나 전화로 상담한 60세 이상 노인 중, 2007년 10월 17일 ∼ 2011년 12월 28일에 걸쳐 KBS 3라디오 출발 멋진 인생의 ‘시니어들의 아름다운 사랑’ 코너에서 상담 사례로 방송된 65세 이상의 노인 109 사례이다. 현재 노인의 섹슈얼리티와 관련한 공영방송 프로그램은 텔레비전 2개, 라디오 3개, 총 5개로 그 수가 매우 부족하고, 노인들의 다양한 욕구는 반영되지 못하고 있다. 이의 해결을 위해서는 노인전문방송프로그램의 확대와 노인의 섹슈얼리티와 관련한 다양한 세부 주제와 개별화된 사례를 반영한 미디어 프로그램이 편성되어야 한다.
In this study, we have attempted to observe seniors' sexuality as seen by the media based on cases presented by KBS 3 Radio's "Start a Great Life". The subjects of the study were selected from seniors over 60 who counseled by visit or via phone between January 2006 - December 2009 at Seoul's S Senior Comprehensive Welfare Facility's Happy Senior Citizen Sexuality Counseling Center, and include seniors over 65 in 109 cases broadcasted between October 17, 2007 - December 28, 2011 as counseling cases on KBS 3 Radio's "Start a Great Life: Seniors' Beautiful Love" program. Based on results of the study, there were only 5 total (2 TV and 3 radio) public programs for seniors on TV and radio. Also, during the recent 3 years (2009 and on) only 8 programs among TV's culture and social issues programs dealt with sexuality of the seniors. Therefore, public programs related to senior sexuality are lacking in number, and various desires that seniors have are not reflected adequately. In order to respond to this, broadcasting programs specific to seniors need to be expanded. Further, more media programs treating various specific topics and individual cases related to sexualities of seniors should be organized.
