도선은 한국의 역사상에 커다란 공간적·지리적 자취를 남긴 인물이다. 도선과 관련된 전통 사찰은 전국적으로 130여 곳에 이른다. 대개 창건 혹은 중창했거나 주석했다는 사찰이다. 도선의 이름을 빌린 현존하는 저술은 50여 편에 달한다. 크게 터잡기방법과 현지답사기, 풍수도참서로 분류된다. 이 연구는 도선과 관련된 사찰과 저술을 문헌에 근거하여 정리하고, 시기적인 층위의 전개 양상을 역사지리적으로 고찰해 비평적으로 검토하였다. 도선에 대한 접근은 ‘실재했던 도선’과, ‘역사화된 도선’을 통시적으로 아우르는 시선과 방법이 필요하다. 후대에 지어낸 것일지라도 현상적 사실에 담긴 사회문화적인 의미를 해석하는 작업이 중요하다.
Doseon was a famous monk who remained huge spacial marks in Korean history. There have been lots of traditional temples that related with Doseon in the whole country. There have come down many manuscripts named Doseon and his nickname. This paper arranged temples and manuscripts of Doseon based on documentary records, and reviewed how they had been developed for the time sequence layer. We need the diachronic approach to Doseon research on both sides that the real Doseon and the historicized Doseon perspective. It is important to interpret the socio-cultural discourse and the meaning on Doseon, even though his phenomenons were made up in the late of Joseon period and modern times.
