The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a cooperative learning on creativity in science instruction. Total of 333 students from grade 7 and 9 were selected and distributed to either experimental or control group. Treatment was science instruction using cooperative learning and project method to heterogeneous group. There were treatment effects on creativity, especially on environment change. Students' creativity was performed at stage of topic selection, planning, inquiry process, and making presentation. Their perception on the instructional method was very good.
