미시적으로 보면 교육은 교실에서 교과를 제대로 가르치는 일에서 그 성패가 결정된다. 교과를 제대로 가르치는 일에 대한 연구가 전문화되면서 내용교수지식에 대한 연구도 많은 진전을 이루고 있다. 교사 전문성이 교과 내용지식을 잘 가르치기 위한 방법적 지식을 확보하는 데 우선을 둔다면 PCK 연구는 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않는다. 본 연구는 기존의 일반적인 PCK 연구의 문제를 개선하여 보다 발전된 형태의 연구를 위하여 PCK의 본질에 착안하여 모형을 개발한 것이다. 본 연구 모형은 내러티브의 다양한 차원을 고려하면서 통합적인 연구방법을 통해 종합적으로 개발되었다. 기존 연구들이 PCK 자체에 머물렀다면 본 모형은 PCK의 심층적 본질을 내러티브와의 관련성과 교사 지식 형성 과정에 주목하여 개발하였다는 점이 특징적이다.
The purpose of this study is to develop a enrichment model of pedagogical content knowledge(PCK) through teacher's narrative in instructional design of subject matter. In recent the focus of teaching professionality centers on PCK in teaching a subject. Teaching a subject is influenced by a variety of factors and ways of understanding of educational dimensions which teacher's narrative embodies. We know pedagogical content knowledge is embedded in narrative knowing. Recent research about PCK shows that it lacks more specific and intensive model of PCK development based on its nature. According to Shulamn(1986), PCK includes taught topics in one's subject area, the most useful forms of representation of those ideas, the most powerful analogies, illustrations, examples, explanations, and demonstration. In nature, PCK includes and relates to teacher's narrative. Narrative is conceptualized as storytelling, meaning-making, and communication. The development of PCK brings us to the core of pedagogical content knowledge based on the teacher's stories and narrative. Research method for developing the model adopts integrative inquiry and mixed approach. In line of theses objectives and method, we develop the model focusing on the four dimensions of narratives within PCK: practical experience, interpretation, reflection, and transformation. Furthermore we construct the model based on four dimensions: constitutive elements of PCK, mode of narrative use, four narrative nature of PCK, and mode of PCK representation. The integrated model comprised of four aspects focuses on pedagogical reasoning․action and personal-practical knowledge.
