Abdominal tuberculosis is not a rare disease, but obstructivejaundice caused by tuberculosis (tuberculouslymphadenitis, tuberculous enlargement of the head ofpancreas, and/or tuberculous stricture of the biliarytree) is rare. We recently experienced a case of obstructivejaundice as a result of paradoxical reactionof periportal tuberculous lymphadenopathy that wastreated successfully with corticosteroid and biliarydrainage. No similar cases have been reported previously.
