The purpose of this paper is to analyze the possible inception of women's student internship programs in the field of local autonomy, which implemented 5 responding University by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family(MOGEF) in 2004. This study begins with theoretical considerations of an internship, followed by an empirical study of the status quo, and concludes with proposed directions and strategies for inception of the internship programs. The women's student internship programs for analyzing consists of four elements such as selection processes of intern, contents and period of internship programs, cooperation and partnership with local council, and considerations for students to complete the internship programs. Based on the detailed analyses of the internship programs, this study has been recognized as a valuable programs to students participating in five responding University. On the other hand, despite the usefulness of the internship programs, it has been rarely utilized to educate students because of joining an extremely part of University in Korea. This study proposes a protocol for activating the internship programs in Korea, including the expansion of internship scale, positive marketing for inducing many students, developing of excellent internship programs, and introducing of incentive system by the performance measurement of programs implemented
