본 연구는 잠언 10-30장에 등장하는 개별잠언을 어떻게 해석할 것인지에 대한 방법론을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 잠언 1-9장의 해석학적 렌즈에 대한 필자의 선행연구를 간략히 요약하였다. 그 후 잠언 1-9장의 렌즈가 10-30장의개별잠언 해석에 어떻게 기여하는지를 설명하기 위하여 잠 26:4-5 해석의 실례를 들었다. 잠 26:4-5는 개별잠언 해석에 있어서 상황성 혹은 적실성을 보여준다고 알려져 있는 잠언 해석의 난제이다. 이 구절을 해석하기 위해 먼저 4-5절 본문자체를 해석하였고, 그 후 26:1-12의 문맥에서 4-5절을 해석하였고, 이후에잠언 1-9장의 여호와 경외의 인식론이라는 해석학적 렌즈를 통하여 재해석하였다. 이 과정을 통하여 필자가 제시하는 잠언 10-30장의 개별잠언 해석방법은다음과 같다. 첫째, 개별잠언의 문맥을 고려한 해석이 시도되어야 한다. 이것은 두 가지 세부적인 단계로 나뉜다. 1) 개별잠언 그 자체 안에서의 단어연구, 구조분석, 문법분석을 통한 해석이 일차적으로 시도되어야 한다. 2) 그런후에 개별잠언의 문맥을 고려한 해석이 시도되어야 한다. 문맥이 개별잠언 의 해석에 어느 정도의 도움을 줄 수 있는가는 경우에 따라 다르다. 둘째,개별잠언 자체 및 문맥을 고려한 후, 그 내용을 가지고 잠언 1-9장이 가르쳐주는 해석학적인 틀인 여호와 경외의 인식론을 고려한 해석을 시도해야 한다. 이 역시 두 가지 세부적인 단계로 나뉜다. 1) 개별잠언의 ‘해석’에 대해고려한다. 잠언의 의미를 어떻게 이해할 것인가의 문제이다. 2) 개별잠언의‘적용’에 관해 고려한다. 독자들이 개별잠언을 실제 상황에 적용할 때 어떻게 여호와를 경외할 수 있을 것인가를 숙고하면서 적용해야 한다. 이러한 개별잠언 해석방법은 앞으로 잠언 10-30장의 개별잠언 해석을 실제적으로 수행해 나가는 가운데 보완, 발전될 수 있을 것이다.
This study suggests a way of interpreting the individual proverbs in Proverbs 10-30. First, it summarizes the writer’s previous study on the hermeneutical lens of Proverbs 1-9 which functions for the whole book of Proverbs. Thereafter it examines Prov 26:4-5 in order to exemplify how the hermeneutical lens of Proverbs 1-9 contributes to the interpretation of the individual proverbs in Proverbs 10-30. Proverbs 26:4-5 is well-known due to the difficulty of interpretation,as it clearly presents the situationality, or fittingness, of the individual proverbs. For sake of interpreting this text, a few steps are taken in this study. The text itself, verses 4-5, is interpreted on its own first, and then its literary context, verses 1-12, is brought into consideration. Thereafter the hermeneutical lens of Proverbs 1-9, the epistemological viewpoint of the fear of YHWH, is considered. A way of interpreting the individual proverbs in Proverbs 10-30 is thereby suggested as follows: First, the literary context of the proverbs should be considered. A couple of details are asked for in this step. 1)The individual proverbs are initially to be studied through basic interpretive tools such as word study, structure analysis, grammatical analysis, and so forth. 2) Then the co-text of the individual proverbs needs to be brought against the aforementioned basic studies. To what extent the co-text can help the interpretive process may vary. Second, the hermeneutical lens of Proverbs 1-9, the epistemological framework utilizing the fear of YHWH,comes in for interpretation. A couple of detailed process are requested. 1) The textual meaning should be searched for. How the fear of YHWH sheds light on the literary and theological aspect of the text needs to be tested. 2) The application of the text should be considered under the light of the fear of YHWH. The way suggested here can be developed and modified as we actually utilize it for interpreting the individual proverbs in Proverbs 10-30.
