Paul's teaching on celibacy and divorce in 1 Corinthians 7:6-16contains the Paul's answers about questions raised by the Corinthians. We can find general biblical principles to settle the matter of celibacy and divorce in 1 Corinthians 7:6-16. This study will respond to questions on the meaning of 1 Corinthians 7:6-16. What does Paul better favor among marriage or celibacy? What is Paul's principle on divorce?Should mixed marriages consisting of believing and unbeleiving spouses get a divorce or keep up their marriage? Has the difference in authority between Paul's thinking and Jesus's thinking been cited by Paul?For the answers to these problems in scripture, this study will make the approach by comment and it will be give the social situation of the Corinth church serious consideration so that it will draw upon Paul's general principle. Paul's general principle in scripture is marriage and not celibacy. Also Paul emphasizes that divorce is impossible except when a non-Christian first wants to divorce in mixed marriages.
