This study is aimed at understanding the meaning of alternative school fact in the Waldorf Education. Rudolf Steiner(1861-1925) was asked to found a school for the children of the workers at the Waldorf-Astoria cigarette factory in Stuttgart. And he has continued to inspire educators throughout the world and Waldorf Education is now increasingly recognised for its universal human values and achievements. Steiner's study of human is really a study of human ways of knowing. According to Steiner's philosophy, man is a threefold being of spirit, soul, and body whose capacities unfold in three developmental stages on the path to adulthood: early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence. And Steiner think that we need to awaken to the functioning presence of spiritual realities in our lives. The depth of insight into the nature of the child, the combination of soul and spiritual world, made a real human being. Steiner is concerned with the most effective and beneficial means of educating the child in society he happens to live. And he said the most important school's task was understanding the children. Waldorf School's curriculum has a special feature compare to ordinary educational curriculum. The curriculum in Waldorf School base on art, and make much of development in child`s soul and spiritual world. Alternative school has a critic view on the public educational system and curriculum, educational environment in now. So in general alternative school stress the worth and potentials of all people, and educational environment be made only for children. And alternative school emphasized art, music, and handwork as much as reading, writing, and arithmetic. Its explicit purpose was to create free, creative, independent, moral, and happy human beings. In this regard, Waldorf education have a worth to alternative education.
