Literary works which visualize leju have been created continuously beyond ages and genres. Even if they wrote records of various types depending on the visiting purpose, they saw both the places of natural beauty and historic interest and the humble life of corrnnon people living in rermte regions, and depicted them on their writings without omission. From this perspective, the Sino-Korean poems visualizing Ienu are essential for us to understand the periphery, not core, of Sino-Korean Literature of the Chosun Dynasty. Those works mainly dealt with such subjects as mountain, water, geography, history, historic places, products and life of corrnmn people. As the society in the late Chosun Dynasty changed drastically, scholars deviated from the traditional centralized writing attitude, and expanded the subjects and objects of writings to unique local cultures, thereby creating works based on the unique culture and natural features of Ieiu and providing the opportunity to introduce them to the metropolis. This is of great significance in the history of literature. Even from the rmdem perspective, it is a good opportunity to reveal the Sino-Korean literature on jeju completely by allocating the capability of study - which has been focused on the metropolis so far to local areas.
