이 논문은 서울굿의 다양성과 다양성 속에 내재되어 있는 통일적인 원리로서의 구조를 발견하고 이를 해명하고자 목적으로 작성되었다. 서울굿이 다양성을 지니고 있으며 이 다양성을 드러내는데 있어서 필요한 모든 원리를 가지고 있는 것은 구조적 통일성이 있기 때문이다. 서울굿의 다양성은 여러 각도에서 이루어지는 것임이 해명되었다. 서울굿의 다양성은 담당층의 다양성으로부터 비롯된다. 생산자의 다양한 자기 표출은 반드시 수요자의 요구 때문으로부터 비롯된다. 굿이 다양한 수요에 부응하면서 다양하게 마련되었음이 확인된다. 경제적 뒷받침이 되어서 다양한 굿이 소요되고 충족되었다. 서울굿의 다양성을 이루는데 있어서 요긴한 것은 담당층의 다양성이다. 만신, 단골 등을 양대산맥으로 해서 이를 부응하는 악사, 만신의 상차림이나 옷을 입는데 도움을 주는 시봉자들이 있어서 여러 측면에서 굿을 성립하도록 도와준다. 담당층이 다양한 것은 매우 주목되는 서울굿의 특징이 된다. 서울굿에서 작은 단위의 치성과 큰 단위의 굿이 양립하면서 이 둘이 서로 조합되어서 다양한 의례를 생산한다. 치성은 만신과 단골이 어우러지는 기본적인 요점 사항이 되고, 치성이 더 발전하게 되면 치성에서 얻어진 날짜에 의해서 굿을 이루게 마련이다. 서울굿의 근간은 치성이고 굿은 담당층이 총체적으로 동원되어서 굿을 하게 되는 종합적인 제전으로된다. 서울굿은 재수굿과 진오기굿을 근간으로 하면서도 만신들만의 내림굿과 진적굿이 조합되고, 마을 단위의 굿인 부군당굿이 첨가되고, 여기에 예탐굿, 하직굿, 화전치는 굿, 병굿 등이 결합되어서 입체적인 굿을 완성하게 된다. 굿의 핵심은 여러 위계로 존재하는 신격과 조상신앙이 결합하는 방식에 있음이 확인된다. 서울굿에서 핵심적인 주체는 만신이다. 만신이 하나의 정립된 연행자로서 완성되기 위해서 여러 가지 조건이 필요하다. 큰만신들로 간주되는 이들로부터 얻은 정보를 종합하면 사회적 지위와 재주아치, 태도 등이 중요한 요건임을 알 수 있다. 동시에 서울굿은 지역적인 편차가 있는데 동쪽제와 서쪽제가 서울의 궁궐을 중심으로 양분되어 있음이 확인된다. 굿을 운용하는데 있어서 명백한 지역적 차이가 있고, 이것이 대타적 인식 속에 만연하고 있음을 확인하게 되었다. 서울굿의 구성 요소가 여러 가지 있으나 가무악희에 의해서 여러 가지 굿을 구성하고 있으며 유형화하고 있음이 확인된다. 서울굿 연구를 온전하게 하기 위해서는 내적 비교와 외적 비교가 온전히 진행되어야 한다. 내적 비교는 규모가 작은 것에서 큰 것까지 일관된 준거를 가지고 연구하는 방법이고, 외적 비교는 서울굿 이외의 지역 굿과 이를 견주어 보는 것이다. 이 논문은 이를 실현하고자 하는 방법론적 모험과 결과를 담고 있다. 특정 지역 무속의례 연구의 고양과 진작을 위해서 비교 연구를 해야 하는 것이 지상 과제로 대두되었다고 하겠다.

The diversity and struture of the Seoul Gut Kim, Heon-Seon* It is the purpose of this study to clear the diversity and structure which is the unificative pricipal of the Seoul Gut. It contributes to understand of Korean shamanism. 1. The person in charge : Mansin, Gidae, Geonak, Sibongja. Traditionally There are four parts to perfome the Seoul gut. but We can see the Mansin and the Geonak now. Gidae has dismissed due to make up the role by mansin. The sibongja is the important role in Seoul gut but It has not been studied. If We know the diversity and structure of the Seoul Gut, We should understand the traditional system. 2. The rites of the heavenly Gods is the key of the ancestor worship and the root of the guts. The rites of the heavenly Gods is not guts but a rites to wish. Generally saying It is Chisung. Chisung is not Gut but shows the essential conditions of Gut and It enlarges as the structural feature of the Gut. 3. There are units of Gut and the principal of organization in it. We can see the situation by fieldworking on Naerimgut and Jinjeokgut of Mansin to themselves. 4. There are the aesthetic standard of Mansin which is the conditions of a great sharman (큰무당 : Kenmudang). 5. There are the difference by area in Seoul Gut. Normally we can divide it into Eastern style and western style. 6. The constituent of Seoul Gut are song, dancing, music and play etc. These factors are organized by the principal in Gut and is the important standard is Music to analyze.
