본 연구에서는 지금까지 연구되지 않았던 무속 수륙재에 주목하여 전북지역 전씨 무계의 수륙재 연행 사례 및 전금순의 제보를 바탕으로 수륙재의 성격, 수륙재의 분포지역, 연행 절차 등을 살펴본 뒤, 법성포 무계와 전씨 무계와의 상관성과 법성포 단오제에서의 무속 수륙재 수용 가능성 그리고 무속 수륙재의 복원 전략 등을 모색해보았다. 수륙재는 물이나 뭍에 떠도는 원혼들을 달래서 천도시키는 고을 단위의 마을 공동체굿이다. 다시 말해, 수륙재는 물과 뭍 즉 마을 곳곳에 있을 이러한 모든 원혼들을 해원시켜 마을의 재앙을 물리치고자 하는 의식이라 할 수 있다. 수륙재가 연행되는 곳은 강 또는 강줄기가 있는 육지나 바다가 있는 해안지역이다. 바닷가에서 연행되는 수륙재에는 풍어와 안전을 비는 선주들의 참여가 많이 이루어지기 때문에, 수륙재의 한 굿거리인 용왕굿이나 뱃굿이 육지지역의 수륙재보다 더욱 풍성하게 연행되었을 것으로 추정된다. 수륙재는 총 18거리로 구성되어 연행되는데, 이들 굿거리 가운데 비중 있게 다루어지는 굿은 용왕굿·배연신굿(뱃굿)·씻김굿·중천멕이놀이다. 수륙재는 주로 바다라는 공간에서 연행되기 때문에, 어업을 생계 수단으로 삼고 있는 어민들의 욕구를 반영하여 용왕굿이나 뱃굿이 수륙재의 중요한 굿거리로 조직되었다고 하겠다. 또한 수륙재의 목적이 억울하게 죽은 영혼들을 천도시켜 마을의 재앙을 막고자 함에 있기 때문에 씻김굿과 중천멕이놀이도 매우 중요한 굿거리로 작용하고 있다. 법성포 단오제에서는 무주고혼(無主孤魂)을 위로하는 한제라는 의식을 새롭게 고안하여 제사를 올리고 있는데, 이러한 의식은 용왕굿의 성격과 일부분 중첩되어 있어 논란의 여지를 불러일으키고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서는 용왕굿과 한제의 성격을 모두 포함하고 있는 무속 수륙재를 복원하는 것이 바람직하다고 본다. 무속 수륙재는 다양한 제의적 요소와 놀이적인 요소들이 결합되어 있고 또 고을 단위로 이루어지는 마을공동체굿이기 때문에, 지역 축제인 법성포 단오제에 가장 적합한 굿이라 할 수 있다. 무속 수륙재를 복원하기 위해서는 우선적으로 무가 텍스트 정리 작업과 전금순 단골이 주재한 수륙재 시연 작업이 선행되어야 한다. 또한, 전남 지역 세습무들을 동원하여 전금순의 수륙재를 전수받게 해야 하고 악사와 무당이 함께 호흡할 수 있는 굿패가 형성되어야 하며, 무당굿을 연행할 때에는 반드시 열린 굿판이 마련해야 한다. 또한, 무속 수륙재의 핵심과정이자 놀이마당이라 할 수 있는 중천멕이놀이 과정을 강화시켜 지역 축제에 걸맞는 놀이판을 형성해가는 것이 바람직하다고 본다.

This research focuses on the shamanist custom, Suryukje, which has never been researched before. This research searched for the relation between the Bupsungpo and Jun shaman lineage, and the accommodation possibility and restoration strategy for the shamanist custom Suryukje, after examining the character, region, and implementation procedures of Suryukje, based on the Suryukje examples of Jeonbuk Jun shaman lineage and the information on Jun Geumsoon. Suryukje is a ritual that overcomes the disasters of the town by relieving the vindictive spirits around the town. Suryukje is composed of 18 parts, and the main ones are Yongwang-gut, Bat-gut, Sitgim-gut, and Joongchunmeginori. Suryukje is mainly implemented near the sea and it reflects the needs of fishermen, thus the Yongwang-gut and Bat-gut are deemed important. Also, because the purpose of Suryukje is to prevent disasters from harming the town by delivering the wrongfully dead souls to after life, the Sitgim-gut and Joongchunmeginori also work as very important exorcisms. Shamanist custom Suryukje is a combination of various proposal and recreational elements. Also, because it is a town community exorcism that is implemented in Goeul units, the Bupsungpo Danoje, which is a regional festival, is the most adequate. In order to restore the shamanist custom Suryukje, firstly, the dancing and singing text needs to be organized, and the Suryukje trial performance needs to be implemented by a Jun Geumsoon Dangol. Also, the Jeonnam hereditary shamans need to be trained in the Jun Geumson Suryukje, and a Gutpae needs to be formed for the musician and shaman to collaborate well with each other. When the shaman exorcism is performed, an open gutpan needs to be provided. Also, the Joongchunmeginori, which is the core recreational part of Suryukje, needs to be strengthened to develope a Noripan that is right for a successful regional festival.
