이 글은 서울 새남굿 도령돌기의 의미 규명을 위한 목적으로 쓰여진다. 죽은 망자를 좋은 곳으로 천도한다는 무속의 의례를 통칭 ‘오구굿’이라고 한다. 서울굿에서는다양하게 오구굿의 분화되어 있고, 그중 굿의 규모가 큰 것을 가리켜 새남굿이라 말한다. 굿은 여러 굿거리들로 구성되어서 어느 굿거리도 중요치 않은 것이 없겠지만,도령돌기는 가장 의례적으로 핵심적인 굿거리라 할 수 있다. 이런 도령돌기의 의미를밝히는 것은 곧 서울 새남굿에 투영된 세계관, 직접적으로 죽음의 세계관을 밝힐 수있는 단서가 된다. 아울러 이런 서울 새남굿의 사례가 한국의 오구굿에서 특수한 것인지 보편적인 것인지 전라남도, 동해안, 남해안의 오구굿과 비교를 한다. 한국의 오구굿은 보편적인 구조를 취하고 있지만, 각 지역마다 독자성들을 갖는다. 이때 서울 새남굿의 독자성이 바로 ‘도령돌기’에서 나타난다. 도령돌기는 행위로표현되는 반면, 이에 앞서 바리공주 무가를 구송하는 말미는 구송으로 표현된다. 이렇게 신화와 의례 세트화되어 있는 것은 서울굿에서만 존재한다-다른 지역은 신화만존재하곤 한다-그러면서 서울 새남굿의 천도 주체는 곧 ‘바리공주’라는 확실한 정리를 하고 있는 것이다. 도령돌기가 있음으로 해서 서울굿은 한국 무속의 저승 내지는죽음관을 가장 치밀하게 보여주는 대표형이 되는 것이다.
This article is prepared to identify the meaning of the Saenamgut Doryeongdolgi of Seoul. This shamanistic ritual, which is known to lead the dead to heaven, is generally called “Ogugut”. In the Seoul gut, Ogugut has been diversified in various ways, and, among others, one on a bigger scale is called Saenamgut. Gut is composed of diverse gutgeori. Any one gutgeori is not important, but still Doryeongdolgi may be the most ceremonial and key gutgeori. The identification of the meaning of such Doryeongdolgi becomes a clue to reveal the world view reflected in the Saenamgut of Seoul and the world view of death directly. Furthermore, the article carries out a comparison of the Saenamgut of Seoul with the Oguguts of Jeollanam-do, the Eastern coast, and the Southern coast to see whether the case of the Saenamgul ot Seoul is special or universal in Ogugut. The Ogugut of Korea has a universal structure, yet, it has originalities according to region. The originality of the Saenamgut of Seoul only appears as ”Doryeongdolgi”. While Doryeongdolgi is expressed with some actions, the malmi that recites the myth of the Bari princess ahead of this is expressed as a recitation. As such, gut that is usually in combination of rituals and myth exists only in the Seoul gut. For other regions, only myth exists in their guts. Meanwhile, it clearly summarizes that the leader who leads the dead to heaven in the Saenamgut of Seoul is the “Bari princess”. With the existence of Doryeongdolgi, the Seoul gut becomes a representative gut that shows most acutely the next world of Korean shamanism or the view of death.
