The base of Park Jong-Hong,s philosophy is the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate. His political participation is deeply related with the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate. In this paper, I focussed on the motive and problem of his political participation concerning the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate. His political participation is naturally derived from his view of nation-state being justifying by the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate. Though he ideologically justified Park Chung-Hee government, he considered it as philosophical praxis which pursued the truth. This is derived from his view of philosophy, reality and nation-state being basing on the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate. Park Jong-Hong endowed the nation-state with extraordinary meaning through the authority of Heaven,s Mandate. Thus, he considered Park Chung-Hee government as not a power elite, but national leader group who tried to realize Heaven,s Mandate, historical mission of national restoration. In this view of nation-state, originally there was not critical mind on systematized violence and oppression committed by state power. The problem of his political participation consists in epistemological fallacy and practical risk involved in the combination of his view of nation-state and the doctrine of Heaven,s Mandate.
