이 논문의 목적은 한국근현대철학사를 새로운 시각에서 독창적으로 해석한 이규성 선생의 최근 저서, 『한국현대철학사론』를 비판적으로 독해하는데 있다. 우선, ‘심정의 경험’과 ‘내외합일’이라는 구도로 구한말부터 1970년대까지 한국철학의 역사적 전개를 이해하는 시각에 대한 비판적 검토이다. 이규성 선생은 한국 근현대철학사에 대한 생철학적 시각을 내외합일의 창조적계승이라는 문맥과 의도적으로 일치시키고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시각은 20세기 한국철학사의 유의미한 부분을 누락시키는 동시에 일관된 해석을 하기어렵게 만든다.(2장)다음으로 ‘내외합일’의 구도에서 제기될 수 있는 철학적 문제에 대한 검토이다. 이규성 선생은 내외합일의 세계관으로부터 오늘날 한국철학이 계승하고 발전시켜야 핵심적인 철학적 과제를 ‘신비주의’, ‘자연철학’, ‘민주주의’로 설정하고 있다.(3장)셋째, 철학사상의 시대 연관성과 관련된 비판적 검토이다. 이규성 선생은 내외합일의 세계관의 현대적 계승을 중시하기 때문에 철학사상의 시대 연관성을 충분히 고려하지 않으며, 특정 철학자로부터 내외합일의 세계관을 살릴 수 있는 측면을 과도하게 해석하는 경향이 있다.(4장)

The purpose of this paper is to critically read Lee Gyu-Seong,s recent work, A Study on the History of Korean Modern Philosophy which creatively interprets the history of Korean modern-contemporary philosophy in the new perspective. First critical review is related to his perspective to understand historical development of Korean philosophy from the last period of the Joseon Dynasty to the 1970’s under the composition of ‘experience of heart’ and ‘unity of the inner and the outer’. Intentionally, he will match the perspective of life philosophy on Korean moderncontemporary Philosophy and the context of creative succession on ‘unity of the inner and the outer’ unique to traditional philosophy. But, this perspective makes missing a significant part among the history of Korean philosophy in the 20th century, but also makes it difficult to a consistent interpretation of it.(Chapter 2) Second critical review is related to the philosophical problems that may arise in the composition of ‘unity of the inner and the outer’. From world view of ‘unity of the inner and the outer’, he has set the core philosophical challenges which current Korean philosophy should inherit and develop,to mysticism, natural philosophy and democracy.(Chapter 3)Third critical review is related to the relevance between philosophical ideas and epoch. Because of his emphasis on modern succession from world view of ‘unity of the inner and the outer’, he does not take full account of this relevance between philosophical ideas and epoch, further tends to excessively interpret the aspect to bring out the world view of ‘unity of the inner and the outer’ from certain philosophers.(Chapter 4)
