The origin marking scheme on domestic products is to determine the criteria for assessment of origin for the products that have been produced domestically by using the imported materials, and distributed and sold domestically by holding. On september 29th 2003, the Korea government introduced the article 24-2 in Foreign Trade Act on 'criteria for assessment of origin of domestic products'. In order to carry into effect this article, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy has layed down a clause of the marking scheme on domestic products, that is, "Made in Korea" in the Statute of Foreign Trade Management on January 14th, 2005. We estimate that this scheme contributes to raise the competitiveness of our enterprises and to protect the right of choice by consumers.
