As firm’s efficient boundary becomes lean and narrow, determinants of firm’s competitiveness shifted from a firm itself to a firm’s supply chain capabilities. On this line, governance structure and coordination mechanism of a firm’s supply chain has received attentions in both practitioners and academic field. The supply chain governance structure and coordination structure decides how a firm to source necessary resources for its operation. Also, as the efficient boundaries of a firm are dynamic, supply chain coordination mechanism evolves over time. By analyzing a case company chosen in a flat glass industry, I proposed three drivers: technology development map, value positioning map and competitive force. From the case analysis, I showed a dynamic nature of the coordination mechanism along with business environment change.
