Christian clients oftentimes experience anxiety and confusion with strong ambivalence about God. This study explores the object relations and religious experiences of Borderline personality structure. The main focus was on the psychodynamics of the early object interactions of Borderline clients and their effects on self/object representations and religious experiences including God representation. For this purpose, Psychoanalytic Object Relations Theories on Borderline personality disorder were reviewed and a case study was performed as well. The case study aimed 1) to understand the inner process involved in creating one's own private God, that is how it develops and how it is distorted or fixed by one's object relations in one's developmental pathways 2) to examine how the individual interacts with her private God and uses this God representation during crises. Implications for therapeutic relationship and pastoral care with Borderline clients were discussed.
