최근 <사씨남정기> 연구는 김춘택 한역본 계열을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 김춘택 한역본 계열이 전체 이본 중에서 주도적인 흐름인 것은 사실이다. 그러나 비김춘택 한역본 계열도 그에 버금가는 세력(이본 수)을 가지고 있으며, 문학적 가치도 떨어지지 않는다. 이 논문에서는 지금까지 학계의 주목을 받지 못했으나 <사씨남정기> 수용사에서 큰 비중을 차지하는 비김춘택 한역본 계열의 존재 양상을 살폈다. 비김춘택 한역본 계열에 속하는 한문본 30종을 조사하여 3개의 하위 계열이 존재함을 밝혔고, 김춘택 계열과 비교하여 인물, 사건, 문체, 삽입문, 고유명사의 제반 특질을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 비김춘택 계열은 기존에 생각되어 온 것보다 김만중 원본 계열에 가까웠으며, 구체적인 장면화, 박진감 있는 전개, 구어체의 서술, 상대적으로 이념에 덜 침윤된 인물 형상 등을 갖추고 있었다. 따라서 김춘택 계열에 비해 비김춘택 계열은 소설이라는 장르 본연의 모습에 가깝다 하겠다.


The classical chinese version of Kim Chun-taek has been mostly used as an object in recent studies about Sassi namjeong-gi. It is true that the Kim Chun-taek series led the predominant trend among different editions. The classical chinese version of non-Kim Chun-taek, however, is also of similar power (number of different editions), and their literary value is not inferior. The present thesis concerned the pattern of the existence of the classical chinese version of non-Kim Chun-taek series, which has not attracted the attention of researchers but is very important in the reception history of Sassi namjeong-gi. By investigating 30 kinds of the Chinese character editions which belong to the classical chinese version of Kim Chun-taek series, the author demonstrated the existence of 3 subordinate serieses. In addition, through the comparison with the Kim Chun-taek series, an analysis was carried out concerning general characteristics, including characters, events, styles, inserts and proper nouns. The result showed that the non-Kim Chun-taek series was more similar to the original Kim Man-joong series than has been considered so far. The characteristics of the non-Kim Chun-taek series include concrete scenes, realistic development of story, description in colloquial style, and the images of characters that are relatively less obsessed by ideology. Thus, when compared to the Kim Chun-taek series, it has a pattern closer to the pattern a novel should have.
