This articles investigate the character of Sung Confucianism and the difference in the resultant aspect of natural recognition shown in the Sijo of gentry in the 16th century mainly about Lee Hwang and Lee Yi, the representative persons of Youngnam Sarim and KihoㆍHonam Sarim. First of all, the articles investigate the viewpoint of Juri theory notably shown in Youngnam Sarim headed by Lee Hwang and that of Juki theory particularly shown in KihoㆍHonam Sarim headed by Lee Yi among the character of Sung Confucianism based on the Sung Confucianism of Juja. The recognition of politic reality is affected by such difference. Thus, when viewing nature, the former pursues idealism of conservative propensity through ideological narration rather than practical description mainly based on Juri theory. However, the latter pursues participation in politic reality and innovative aspect by concentrating on description of nature rather than ideological narration mainly based on Juki theory. Next, the aspect of recognizing nature by gentry is checked through their Sijo in the 16th century. Especially, it is found that Lee Hwang, taking Juri theory as his base of thought through 〈陶山十二曲〉, ideologically recognizes nature by recognizing nature as the mediating channel that reveals Li. Through 〈高山九曲歌〉 of Lee Yi, they understand that the nature itself keeps Li and try to reveal Li by precisely describing such natural scene. It is confirmed that this is shown as practical recognition in the aspect of natural recognition.
