본 연구에서는 남녀 청소년들의 도박행동에 대한 충동성, 스트레스, 도박신념 및 부모애착의 영향력을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울과 충남 소재 2개 학교에 재학 중인 중학생 752명을 대상으로 6개 변인에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과에서 나타난 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자들의 도박경험 실태를 분석한 결과 생애도박경험률은 전체 87.4%였고, 남학생(92.6%)이 여학생(83.5%)보다 많았다. 현재도박경험률은 전체 84.6%였고, 남학생(89.7%)이 여학생(84.6%)보다 역시 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 도박유형을 살펴보면 남자집단은 온라인일반게임(온라인도박)의 경험률이 가장 높고, 여자집단은 기계게임(오프라인도박)의 경험률이 가장 높았다. 또한 남녀 모두 온라인 도박유형 중에서는 온라인일반게임을 하는 비율이 가장 높은 것이 공통점이었고, 오프라인 도박유형 중에서는 남자는 운동경기가, 여자는 기계게임의 경험비율이 각각 가장 높다는 특징을 보였다. 셋째, 현재도박행동은 여학생보다 남학생이 많이 하고, 비합리적 도박신념, 장래도박의도, 충동성, 스트레스 정도가 높거나 모에 대한 애착수준이 낮을수록 현재도박행동을 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 남자청소년의 현재도박행동은 도박신념, 충동성, 스트레스에 따라 유의미한 영향을 받고, 장래도박의도는 도박신념에 대해서만 유의미한 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 달리 여자청소년의 현재도박행동과 장래도박의도 모두는 도박신념에 대해서만 유의미한 영향을 받는 것으로 나타나 차이를 보였다.
The present study explored the effects of impulsiveness, stress, gamblers’ beliefs, and parents attachment on gambling of male and female middle school students. Total 752 male and female middle school students in Seoul and Chung-cheong were participated in a survey in which impulsiveness, stress, gamblers’ beliefs, parents attachment, and gambling (experiences both so far and during the last year) were explored. Results showed that first, most of the participants(more than 80%) had experiences of gambling both so far and during the last year, and the rates of experiences were higher among male adolescents than female counterparts. Second, gambling items those were chosen by adolescents mostly often were general on-line game, off-line sport game, and off-line machine game. Third, factors those were significantly correlated to the recent gambling of adolescents were gender, gamblers’ beliefs, intent to future gambling, and mother attachment(negatively). Forth, for male adolescents, gamblers’ beliefs, impulsiveness, and stress showed significant effect on their recent gambling, meanwhile only gamblers’ beliefs showed significant effect on their intend to future gambling. For female adolescents, only gamblers’ beliefs showed significant effect on their recent gambling as well as intend to future gambling. On the bases of the results revealed in the present study, meaning and implication of the results, and significance and limitation of study were discussed.
