본 연구는 어린이집 주임교사가 수행하는 역할과 함께 그 수행 과정에서 느끼는 어려움에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 어린이집 주임교사의 역할 수행 및 어려움을 파악하기 위한 설문지를 개발하여 서울 및 수도권 소재 어린이집에 재직하고 있는 주임교사 95명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 개발된 설문지는 보육과정 운영자, 관리자, 지도자, 인화자, 대외관리자의 5개 영역 49문항으로 구성되어 있으며, 수집된 자료는 기술 통계와 t-검증을 이용해 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 어린이집 주임교사는 보육과정 운영자 역할을 가장 많이 수행하고 있었으며 인화자 역할을 수행하는 데 가장 많은 어려움을 느끼는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 수행과 어려움에 있어서 교사의 배경 변인에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study aims to investigate the role execution and the role difficulty of the head teacher in day-care center. The research was based on the questionnaires answered by 95 vice principal in day-care center. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-test. The result of this study indicated that the most executing duty is the curriculum operation and the role of harmony with others is the most difficult field when the head teacher executed their role. The role execution and the role difficulty of head teacher in day-care center were affected by personal and organizational characteristics.
