본 연구는 시사주제 활동을 통한 유아의 사회적 가치 형성과 가치 기준의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 연구대상은 서울시 소재 유치원 만 5세 유아 48명이다. 시사주제 활동은 문헌연구를 토대로 구성하여 유아교육 전문가 5인에 의해 타당도를 검증받았으며 총 10주 동안 토의 10회, 연관활동 25회를 실시하였다. 연구도구는 유아용으로 선행연구를 통해 연구자가 개발하였으며, 유아교육 전문가 5인에게 타당도를 검증받고 예비 검사를 실시한 후 보완하여 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 사전, 사후 검사 결과를 SPSS프로그램을 활용하여 중다공변량분석(MANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 시사주제 활동이 유아의 5가지 사회적 가치 중 존중과 협동의 사회적 가치 형성에 유의미한 효과가 있으며, 또한 유아가 가지고 있는 협동, 정직, 존중, 관용의 사회적 가치 부분에서 가치 기준의 변화가 유의미하게 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to examine young children’s social value build and change through current issue activity. 48 five-year-old children of two kindergartens located in Seoul were selected for this study. The current issue activity composed based on advanced research and accomplished content validity by five early childhood education specialists. The current issue activity accomplished 10 discuss and 25 related activity during 10 weeks. A tools developed for young children and accomplished content validity by five early childhood education specialists. The data were analyzed by mancova analysis using SPSS Win 17.0 Program. The findings of this study indicated that 1) current issue activity effect on respect and cooperation of Young children’s social value build and 2) current issue activity effect on respect, cooperation, honesty, tolerance of Young children’s social value change.
