본 연구는 리듬노래와 리듬패턴을 활용한 악기활동이 유아의 리듬감과 음악표현력에 영향을 미치는 지를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 만 4세 유아 40명(실험집단 20명, 비교집단 20명)으로, 실험집단 유아에게는 주 1-2회 리듬노래와 리듬패턴을 활용한 악기활동을 실시하고, 비교집단 유아에게는 유치원 기존의 악기 활동을 실시하였다. 리듬노래와 리듬패턴을 활용한 악기활동의 교육적 효과를 검증하기 위하여, 활동 실시 전․후에 리듬감 검사와 음악 표현력 검사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료들은 SPSS 15.0 Window용 프로그램을 이용하여 통계 처리하여 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 리듬노래와 리듬패턴을 활용한 악기활동은 유아의 리듬감과 음악 표현력에 긍정적인 영향을 가져오는 것으로 나타났다.


The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant. The subjects were 40 four-year-old kindergartners. The subjects were divided into an experimental group and a comparison group. The experimental group was given instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant and the comparison group was given the instrument activity. The program was carried out over a ten week period. A rhythm aptitude test and a music expression ability test were applied to both groups before and after the experiment to find out the effect of the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant. The data were analyzed by ANCOVA with SPSS 15.0 WIN program. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant was proven to affect kindergarteners’ rhythm aptitude. Second, the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant was proven to affect kindergarteners’ music expression ability in a positive way. The children who participated in the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant showed desirable changes in many ways. They began to express freely feelings and rhythms that they got from the music. In conclusion, the instrument activity applied rhythm pattern and rhythm chant can be effective to improve kindergarteners’ rhythm aptitude and musical expression, and so should be applied to early childhood education settings.
