본 연구는 음악ㆍ과학통합활동이 유아의 음악적 창의성과 과학적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 G시에 위치한 A유치원의 만 5세 유아 47명으로 실험집단 24명과 비교집단 23명을 선정하였다. 실험집단에는 매주 2회씩 6주간 총 12회의 음악ㆍ과학통합활동을, 비교집단에는 일반적인 음악활동을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악ㆍ과학통합활동을 실시한 실험집단의 유아의 음악적 창의성이 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 음악ㆍ과학통합활동을 실시한 집단의 유아의 과학적 태도가 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 음악ㆍ과학을 통합한 활동이 유아의 음악적 창의성 및 과학적 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 가져왔음을 보여준다. 이는 음악과 과학을 통합한 활동이 유아의 음악적 능력 및 과학적 능력에 있어 보다 효율적인 교수ㆍ학습방법을 제공할 수 있음을 시사한다.
This study examined the effects of music and science integrated activities on young children's musical creativity and scientific attitude. The subjects were 47 five-year-old children in M kindergarten located in G city. The experimental group carried out the music and science integrated activities. The results of this study are as follows. First, the experimental group showed higher musical creativity than the comparative group. Second, the experimental group showed higher scientific attitude than the comparative group. Consequently, the music and science integrated activities promoted young children's musical creativity and scientific attitude. Moreover, the results of this study suggest that music and science integrated activities are worth utilizing as proper and meaningful methods to improve young children's musical creativity and scientific attitude.
