This study seeks for the methodological enhancement in the blended general English learning of online and offline English classes. The students access to the class homepage for their on-line study and communication in their spare time wherever they are. The students come to the class for their cooperative meaningful communication face to face with the professor and other students. This method is called an inverted learning model, and the study compares the inverted learning model with a more traditional blended learning model to investigate the effect differentials. The sophomore general English education of C university in Chungnam province is the subject of the study. The material used in the classes is「Modern Family」which is an American drama satisfying the educational criteria consisting of students' interest in English and practicality of the English they learn. After the experiment, both groups showed statistically significant differences between pre- and post-tests in their compared t-test in the 99.9% statistical reliability. This shows the blended learning of both model creates positive results in students' listening ability. The independent t-test between experimental and compared group shows a statistically significant difference in the 95% confidence level. This leads to the conclusion that the inverted learning model is more effective than the traditional blended learning model. Therefore, the inverted blended learning model of this study can be an alternative learning model to make a methodological change in the college English education.
