본고는 영재교육 프로그램의 개발 방향과 전망을 알아보기 위하여 기존의 영재교육 프로그램을 심화와 속진으로 살펴보았고, 지능이론의 관점을 이들과 비교하였다. 따라서 기존의 영재교육 프로그램의 분류 형태인 속진과 심화 이외에 지능관련 프로그램의 3가지 준거로 영재교육 프로그램을 분류하였다. 특히 지능이론관련 영재교육 프로그램은 최근 들어 활발한 논의의 대상이 되고 있으나, 그 특징과 관련 프로그램의 소개는 미미한 실정이다. 따라서 심화, 속진, 지능이론관련 영재교육 프로그램을 종합적으로 고찰한 후에 국내․외의 영재교육 프로그램을 살펴보았고, 영재교육프로그램의 개발 방향과 전망을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to inspection and perspective for program development for Gifted Education. A program for gifted students should provide a comprehensively planned curriculum that utilizes within discipline and/or cross-disciplinary studies. Most of researcher agree that there are two kind of criterion for gifted education programs. Acceleration and Enrichment are general criterion. In this study add a criterion in relationship intelligence theory. So four kind of criterion choice, Acceleration, Enrichment, Acceleration and Enrichment, and intelligence theory.
