이글은 서울굿에 존재하는 장단의 의미를 주로 개별 굿거리, 신격과 관련하여 살펴본 글이다. 그동안 다루어지지 않은 서울굿판의 장단을 개별적으로 살핀 후 장단의 결합이 어떤 의미를 가지는지를 아울러 살폈다. 서울굿판에는 청배장단, 상산장단, 굿거리장단, 별상장단, 타령장단, 노랫가락장단, 만수받이장단, 휘몰이장단 등이 있다. 이들 장단은 모두 신격과 연결되어 있고, 구체적인 개별 굿거리와도 관련이 있다. 아울러 노랫가락과 타령은 신격에 따라 존재 양상이 달라진다. 노랫가락을 받는 신격과 타령을 받는 신격이 서로 다르다. 또한 굿거리장단은 굿거리를 구분하게 하고, 이승의 망자가 저승으로 가는 과정을 보여주기도 한다. 이처럼 서울굿판에서 장단은 음악으로만 존재하는 것이 아니라, 무속적인 의미망을 담고 존재하고 있다. 이에 따라 그동안 연구되지 않은 서울굿의 장단이 단순하게 음악적인 의미망을 넘어서서 무속적으로 중요한 의미를 담고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 아울러 개별 장단이 결합하여 다양한 굿 연행의 중요한 의미를 도출할 수 있음도 밝혔다.

The study was examined the meaning of rhythm in a Seoul Gut in association with the god and an individual gutgeori. Also I looked around how it meant to the combination of rhythm, after examining rhythm of seoul gut, respectively. There are Cheongbae jangdan(=rhythm), Sangsan jangdan, Gutgeori jangdan, Byeolsang jangdan, Taryeong jangdan, Noraetgarak jangdan, Mansubaji jangdan, Hwimori jangdan in a Seoul gutpan. These all jangdans were related with God as well as specific gut geo ri individually. Besides, It might be changed aspects of existence on Noraetga ak and Taryeong on a kind of God. The god who received Noraetgarak was different from the god who received Taryeong. Gutgeori jangdan distinguished Gutgeori from other things and also shows the process in which dead person departs this life. In this way, the rhythm in a Seoul gut is in existence as a shamanic meaning, not a music.
