이 글은 주역에 있는 여러 가지 변용괘(變用卦) 중에서 도전괘(倒轉卦;거꾸로 돌려서 보면 괘상이 변하는 괘)와 부도전괘(不倒轉卦;거꾸로 돌려도 변하지 않는 괘)에 주목하여 수운교의 우주관을 밝히려는 데 목적이 있다. 주역64괘는 도전괘 28괘와 부도전괘 8괘의 합수인 36괘상으로 구성되어 있다고 말할 수 있다. 이것은 소강절이 말한 36궁(宮)과 일치한다. 수운교의 삼천대천세계도는 불교와 달리 도솔천의 天界를 중심으로 불계(佛界), 천계(天界), 인계(人界)의 3계 하늘이 하나라는 불천심일원(佛天心 一圓;부처, 하날님, 마음은 하나)의 교리에 따른 것이다. 그런데 천계에는 36하늘이 있고, 불계에는 48하늘이 있다고 한다. 바로 이 도솔천 천계의 36하늘이 주역 36괘상과 일치한다는 점이다. 이 36하늘의 천계를 중심으로 수운교는 불계, 천계, 인계가 통일된다고 밝히고 있는 것이다. 그 중에서도 인간을 중시한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 다시 말하면 수운교의 우주관은 불교 우주관과 주역 우주관의 융합적 성격을 띠고 있다고 할 수 있다. 특히 이 글은 주역이해의 핵심이 되는 36궁을 종래의 ‘부도전 8괘+도전괘 28괘’의 합수에서 한 걸음 나아가, 처음으로 부도전 8괘중 건괘와 곤괘를 제외한 나머지 6괘의 ‘양효 18+음효 18’의 합수와 일치한다는 것을 규명하였다. 또 그것이 주역 ‘상경 18괘+하경 18괘’의 합수와 구조적으로 일치한다는 것도 밝혔다.

The purpose of this study is to unveil the vision of universe of Suwoongyo by focusing on the changeable trigrams and unchangeable trigrams out of the transformation trigrams. Yijing's 64 hexagrams are formed from the 28 changeable trigrams and 36 trigrams imageries which are the combination with 8 unchangeable trigrams. This corresponds to Sao Yung's 36 houses. Unlike Buddhism, the Samcheon-daecheon World of Suwoongyo is based on the dogma of Bulcheonsimilwon which believes that the three skies, such as the Buddha's sky, heaven's sky and men's sky, are one centering at the sky of Dosol. There are 36 skies in the sky system, and Buddhism says that there are 48 skies. The 36 skies of Dosolcheon comply with 36 trigrams imageries. According to Suwoongyo, Buddha's sky, heaven's sky and men's sky are united centering at these 36 skies. Of these, Suwoongyo focuses on men. In other words, the vision of universe of Suwoongyo has the blending characteristic between the vision of universe of Buddhism and Yijing. Advancing from the combination of 8 unchangeable trigrams + 28 changeable trigrams, this study particularly proves that the combination of 18 Yangyao and 18 Yinyao of the 6 trigrams, except the Kan trigram and Kun trigram out of 8 trigrams, corresponds to the 36 houses which are the core part for the understanding of Yijing. This study also proves that the results from this corresponds to the merged number of 18 trigrams of the first series + 18 trigrams of the second series in Yijing.
