This article discusses facts and implications of the legal provision for the advancement of life-long education in Korean Educational system. Furthermore, the purpose and conc-epts contained in the provision as well as the direction of further developments of the provision are examined. In doing so, this article contains the following details.First, this article deals with the conceptual characteristics of the legal provision. Second, this article analyzes the contents of legal provision in detail, which are included in the Constitution, the Educational Law and the Life-long Educational Law, to investigate whether such contents properly represent the primary ideals of the legal provision. Third, this article emphasizes that the primary purpose of life-long Educational law is to accomplish the life-time learning society. In order to achieve this primary purpose, the true reform of Educational system and the protection of the ideals contained in the laws listed above must be established. Such establishments, however, are able to come true only if the Korean Educational system becomes free from the everlasting past-oriented mind-sets and attitudes: imitation or pursuit of unrighteous institutional tradi- tions and inefficient over-competitions, which violate the principle ideals of Life-long Education.
