본 연구는 도시범죄 발생패턴을 범죄 유형별로 도시, 지역, 건물공간으로 그래픽과 수치로써 구현해 주는 범죄발생예측프로그램(Crime Prediction Prgram: CPP)을 개발하기 위한 기초작업을 수행한 것이다. 범죄발생예측프로그램(CPP)은 대도시의 범죄발생 예측율을 공간지도에 개별 공간 및 마을 그리고 도시 단위로 그래픽으로 구현되는 것이다. 이를 위한 선결작업으로 본 연구에서는 도시 내 발생한 도시범죄 발생과 밀접한 관련이 있다고 여겨지는 사회적경제적 요인들을 정량화 하였다. 구체적으로 3개 도시(광주광역시, 목포시, 순천시)를 대상으로 지난 일년간(2004년) 발생한 강력범죄를 대상으로 발생장소 및 건물의 위치를 파악하고 사회적경제적 요인들에 대한 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 대상범죄는 살인, 강도, 강간, 방화, 절도의 5개 범죄유형을 대상으로 조사분석하였다. 현장조사 및 분석은 범죄유형별 발생패턴과 사회적경제적 요인을 대상으로 하였다. 그리고 이러한 요인들에 대하여 통계조사와 현장조사, 직접 설문조사를 실시하여 각 요인들의 정량화를 위한 연구를 진행하였다. 이는 정량적으로 기술된 공간적인 요인들과 관련하여 사회적경제적 요인들 간의 구조적인 관계를 전체적으로 기술할 수 있는 시스템적 방법의 개발이 절대적으로 요구되기 때문이다.

A study on the analysis of basic crime factors : focusing on social and economic factors of 3 cities Kim, Young-Hwan/Chang, Dong-Kuk/Mun, Jung-Min This research was conducted in basic level for developing Crime Prediction Program that embodies the occurrence patterns of city crimes in crime types to graphics and figures of cities, area, and building space. Crime Prediction Program is to embody the crime prediction ratio of large city in space map to graphics by units of particular space, village, and city. As previous progress for that, in this research, social and economic factors that are considered to have the close relationship with city crime occurrences were fixed in quantity. In the concrete, it was accomplished to grasp the scene and building location and to collect the materials of social and economic factors about cruel crimes for last one year in three cities(Kwangju city, Mokpo city, Suncheon-si). Five crimes of murder, robbery, rape, arson, and theft was surveyed and analysed. A field study and analysis was conducted about occurrence patterns of a crime type and social, economic factors. Regarding those factors, A research for fixed quantity conversion was conducted by accomplishing a statistical research, a field study, a direct question survey. That is because it is absolutely required to develop the systematic method that can account for the structural relation between social factors and economic factors in connection with space factors described in fixed quantity. After this research process, the final Crime Prediction Program is expected to contribute to the development of practical research method and the efficient use of public security and administration and the embodiment of safe city society through suggesting the practice guideline and program to prevent increasing city crime.
