The main purpose of this study is to read animation Kung Fu Panda through Śûnyatā idea of Zen Buddhism. The result of narrative Syntagmatique analysis, main characters analysis, space system analysis is that the themes, ‘misunderstanding and illusion’ and ‘self-examination,’ form the backbone of the work. And the focus of this work can be said to be about the empty thing and the thing that is lacking and the thing about Śûnyatā. Śûnyatā doesn’t have steadfast Jaseong (the nature of the object itself) and is something free from confrontation or conflict and can be summarized as ‘the thing neither empty nor full’. ‘Emptiness’ that does not seem unrelated to it or seems similar with it is revealed as a kind of motif in the various parts such as lines, situation, etc. of the work and expressed directly or indirectly. As the driving force of the narration, these factors lead the direction of the desire of the characters in the drama and play a key role in dominating the narrative. Among them, the most incomprehensible and empty Dragon Scroll embodies Śûnyatā and is analyzed to be the key element of the work.
