현재 방과 후 학교는 수익자 부담을 원칙으로 시행되고 있는바 방과 후 학교의 실질적인 성과를 높이기 위해서는 수요자의 현재를 파악하고 요구를 적극적으로 수용할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 방과 후 학교 최대 수요자인 학습자의 만족도 및 요구도를 조사하기 위하여 초등학교 방과 후 학교에 참여하고 있는 학생을 대상으로 현재 받고 있는 프로그램에 관한 현황 및 만족도를 살펴보고, 학생의 입장에서 방과 후 학교 프로그램에 관하여 무엇을 요구하는가를 조사하고자 하였으며 이를 토대로 방과 후 학교 운영에 반영할 수 있는 시사점을 마련하고자 하였다. 부산광역시 초등학교 15개교에서 방과 후 학교를 수강하고 있는 초등학생 총 372명을 대상으로 성별, 학년, 거주지, 부모님의 교육에 대한 관심도 및 맞벌이 유무 등에 따른 만족도 및 요구도를 조사한 결과 배경변인별로 프로그램에 대한 만족도 및 요구도에 다양한 차이가 나타났다.
Since currently after-schools are operated in benefit principle, in order to increase the actual result of the after-schools, it is necessary to understand the present status of clients and to accept their needs actively. This study attempted to examine the current status of and satisfaction with elementary after-school programs which students currently attend in order to investigate the satisfaction and need of those who are the greatest clients of the after-schools and to investigate what they ask the after-school programs the from the standpoint of students, and based on the result, it tried to provide suggestions that can be reflected on the operations of the after-schools. As a result of an investigation of the satisfaction and needs according to their sex, grade, residence, their parents' interests in education and whether they work together for a living for a total of 372 elementary students who enroll after-schools in 15 elementary schools in Busan metropolitan city, there were various differences in the satisfaction with and the need for the programs each background variable.
