Analysis of Rhetorical Sensitivity Scale on the Declarations of the current state of affairs in 2009

본고는 시국선언문을 연설문 텍스트로 삼아 2009년도 서울지역 3개 대학의 교수와 학생들이 선포한 시국선언문의 레토릭 지수를 분석한다. 즉, 레토릭을 방법론으로 적용하여 이러한 연설문이 얼마나 수사적 효력이 있는 지를 밝혀내고자 한다. 그러나 본고는 시국선언문의 구체적 내용에 대해 어떠한 정치적 입장이나 견해를 지니지 않는다. 즉, 시국선언문을 하나의 연설문 텍스트로 보고 얼마나 수사적 효과가 있는지를 평가하고 그 과정에 대한 분석을 연구목적으로 할 뿐이다. 본고는 독자들의 반응에 대한 어떠한 피드백 자료를 참조하지 않았고 또 연설문 낭독의 백업 영상을 참조하지도 않았다. 그러므로 ‘문언 텍스트’로서의 연설문을 연구 및 분석 대상으로 고정시키고 그 “레토릭 지수 (Rhetorical Sensitivity Scale)”에 대하여 수사학의 전통 이론을 방법론으로 적용하여 평가한다.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the Declarations of the current state of affairs by both professors and students who belong to three universities in Seoul, using the speech as a text for analysis. I'd like to find out how rhetoric-effectively such a kind of speech can be used by using rhetorical methodology for the purpose of analyzing it. In conclusion, the scores of students were higher than those of professors by 2.5 average points, in terms of rhetorical sensitivity scale as a speech text, in which students achieved 8.3 points and professors 5.8 points respectively.
