The appreciation of allegoric tales has educational value in that readers are supposed to find out the meaning of the text subjectively and to internalize the attitude connoted in the text consequently. In this respect the education about the appreciation of allegoric tales has an advantage over a moral education which focus on the moral lesson from the text or an interpretation education which focus on the intended meaning to decode. It shows one ideal model of literature appreciation. This study is conducted to show certain contents for teaching allegoric tales appreciation in the concrete. So the features of allegoric text, teaching contents for allegoric tales in the national textbook and examples of a group activity to appreciate allegoric tales were examined or analyzed. Appreciation of allegoric tales accomplished when readers discover implicit meanings from the dual structure of allegoric texts and understanding allegoric texts as a imitative form they apply the meaning to human lives and also themselves. From the example of web site ‘zarak-seodang’ thinking activities for appreciation derived. They correspond to ‘knowing, discriminating, feeling, enjoying’. As a result at the end of this paper, a structure and principles of appreciation education for allegoric tales could be suggested.
