In this study I investigated the reason that the latest discussion of developing Korean language arts curriculum had come to a deadlock. According to my analysis, the confusion of argument on the 'Scopes' of Korean language education arose from adhesion and juxtaposition of what is called the existing 'Domains or Fields.' The 'Domain' or 'Field' does not have same implication as the 'Scope'. Because the 'Scope' is based on the educational objective and distinguished from other scopes by its contents. If anyone reads attentively the curriculum now in use, (s)he would find only 4 educational objectives actually as follows; Social Communicating Ability, Intellectual Inquiry, Making Creative Meaning, Receiving the Language Culture. This 4 educational objectives could be applicable to literary education. So taking notice of this, I established the objectives of literary education, made a sequence of core terms of literary education, and organized the standards classified by grade-group and activities classified by grade.
