최근의 정보통신(IT)산업의 발달은 글로벌 디지털 정보화시대와 함께 저널리즘의 다양화, 세분화, 전문화를 요구하는 디지털 저널리즘 파격(Digital Journalism Disruption)의 시대에 직면해 있다. 그러나 한국 저널리즘은 전문적이고 실무형 저널리스트의 양성과 전문교육에 소극적(부재)인 것도 사실이다. 연구자는 국내외 저널리즘의 역사적 교육현황 및 사례연구 분석을 통해서 저널리즘 전문교육의 부재 상황을 진단하고, 한국 저널리즘 전문교육을 위한 올바른 대안으로 저널리즘 전문대학원 대학교의 필요성과 설립방안에 대해서 심층적으로 연구하였다. 특히 본 연구는 저널리스트 전문교육 모델((선발(Selection)×기간(Period)×운영(Management)×제도(System))×디지털(Digital) 모델)의 복합관계를 통해서 저널리즘 전문대학원 대학교 설립방안 모델(S×P×M×S 디지털파격모형: 저널리즘 전문대학원 대학교 설립 Model)을 제시하였다.
The latest development of information technology industry is faced with the Digital Journalism Disruption era, which requires the diversification, well-segmented, specialization of journalism amid the global digital information era. However, it is also true that Korea journalism is lacking in specialized education as well as training and nurturing the professional journalist. Through the analysis of historical record and some case study of journalism eductions both at home and abroad, the researcher diagnosed the absence of the professional journalism education in Korea and the need of reviewing plans of establishing the graduate School of professional journalism to bolster the specialized education in the country. In particular, this research presented the model of the graduate School of professional journalism (S × P × M × S digital disruption model) through the complex relations of the specialized journalism education model (Selection × Period × Management × System × Digital model).
