이 논문은 클린트 이스트우드(Clint Eastwood)가 감독하고 주연한 영화 <그랜토리노(Gran Torino)>를 분석 고찰한 논문이다. 그 결과 이 영화는 삶과 죽음의 문제를 바탕에 깔고 신뢰와 소통의 문제를 다루고 있는 작품임을 알 수 있었다. 이 작품은 또한 소통의 단절로 말미암은 혈연적인 가족관계의 해체와 새로운 인간관계의 형성을 보여주고 있다. 문학치료에서 이야기하는 인간관계 이론에 따라 월트와 타오의 관계를 분석해보면, 월트 코왈스키(Walt Kowalski)에게는 부모서사가, 타오(Tao)에게는 자녀서사가 작동하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 이렇게 볼 때, 월트와 타오의 관계는 양육과 순응이 주안점이 될 것이다. 따라서 이 영화는 문학치료의 자료로도 가치를 지닌 작품이라고 할 수 있다.


This paper examined the analysis of the movie of “Gran Torino” that was directed by Clint Eastwood, who was also the main actor of the film. The main theme of this movie was trust and communication problem based on the fundamental issue of death and life. In addition, the blood related family relationship has been dismantled because of miscommunication among family members and how another new human relationship was established. In the process of literature therapy, the relationship between Walt and Toa showed that readers can discern Waltz saw Tao from the realm of father and mother epic and at the same time, Tao saw Walz from the realm of son and daughter epic. The relationship between Waltz and Tao can be focused on how to raise children and at the same time, how to obey their parents. As a conclusion, the author considered that the themes of this film are suitable for literature therapy and this film is worth of using as literature therapy text.
