AB - As for the subject of the importation and dissemination of Chinese fiction and Its Influence on fictional narratives of Chosŏn Korea and other East Asian civilizations, such as Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, the dissemination of Jiandeng xinhua by Qu You (瞿佑 1347–1433) is a significant case study. Also worth noting is the reintroduction of Jiandeng xinhua and classical tales influenced by Jiandeng xinhua from these East Asian countries back to China. This essay clarifies the circulation of traditional Chinese narratives in premodern East Asian with the case study of Jiandeng xinhua in this respect.
